Helena helps to build future workforce
Thanks to Helena two young customers have made their dreams of securing full time work a reality.
After successfully completing a six week placement on Helena Living's Victoria Avenue site in Moss Bank, David Wightman from Rainford is now a full-time labourer for AB Building & Electrical.
David, who has lived with his mum in their Helena home for 11 years, said: "As a young person the job market is really hard to get into but Helena has helped me build my skills through work experience and set me up for a great future career."
Cath Brooks, re:new Outreach Supervisor at Helena, said: "In these difficult times changes to benefits and a slow down in the jobs market is really putting our customers under pressure. That's why we support our tenants and residents as much as possible to get into work and training."
David Batterton, Director of AB Building & Electrical, said: "Partnering with Helena has given us the opportunity to recruit valuable young members of staff like David, who will help our company grow. At AB we are always looking to invest and provide employment to the residents and communities in which we work.
This has also allowed us to extend our reach and investment in St Helens, and we look forward to continuing to provide opportunities and work with Helena to deliver homes that residents love."
